John F. Geaney, Jr., born Bridgeport, Connecticut, 1929; admitted to the New Jersey bar in 1954 and to the U. S. District Court, District of Columbia, District of New Jersey and the U. S. Court of Military Appeals in 1955; U.S. Supreme Court in 1963. Mr. Geaney received his A.B. from College of the Holy Cross, magna cum laude, in 1951 and L.L.B. from Harvard Law School, cum laude, in 1954. Mr.Geaney was lst Lt., J.A.G.C., U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958 and a Captain in the Reserve from then until 1965. He was Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Passaic County from 1961-1963 and Assistant County Counsel, Passaic County from 1963-1969. He served as a Member and Chairman of the Passaic Count Ethics Committee during 1975 until 1981. He is a Member of the National Panel of Arbitrators, American Arbitration Association; the Passaic County Bar Association (Past President) and New Jersey State and American Bar Associations. He was a name partner in the Paterson firm of Cole, Geaney, Yamner & Byrne from 1967 until 1989 and in the Elmwood Park firm of Andora, Palmisano and Geaney until the dissolution of that firm in 2000. Mr. Geaney joined Williams, Caliri, Miller, & Otley, P.C. in 2000. Mr. Geaney practices in the areas of corporate law, commercial litigation and estate administration. Areas of Practice
